ARBUTUS AND SUMMER
Common
only in the Pacific North West, the Arbutus tree likes the coast. It
has ruby
red or creamy yellow soft bark that feels like skin. If you can see an
Arbutus (or Madonna tree as our US friends like to call it) you can
probably see the ocean. For this reason its twisted, twirly branches
are often appreciated by boaters in
this area.
