KAYAK AND SUNRISE

This was painted from my dock,. I'm not kidding!!!
We look almost east from our home on Piers Island. The 3 more prevalent islands from left to right are Portland Island, Moresby Island and Knapp Island. Faint glimpses of Pender and Stuart islands can be seen in the distance.
I rarely paint with such detail but I loved this sunrise "as is". An airbrush and some new techniques using liquid acrylic pigment gaves this painting a very realistic appearance.
Don't you just wish you were on the water already?

ORIGINAL PAINTING:

30" x 40" acrylic on 3/4" clean-edge canvas. ( 28x38 face dimension )
